Sun Joe SPX3000 vs SPX3001 Pressure Washer

When it comes to cleaning outdoor surfaces, pressure washers are a convenient and effective solution. They use high-pressure water jets to blast away dirt, grime, and stains, making restoring the original look of your patio, deck, driveway, or siding easy.

If you are in the market for a pressure washer, you may have come across the Sun Joe SPX3000 and Sun Joe SPX3001 models. But what are the differences between these two almost similar-named pressure washers?

In this blog post, I will thoroughly compare the SPX3000 and SPX3001 pressure washers in terms of their features, performance, and overall value.

I hope it will help you decide the best fit for your needs.

Sun Joe SPX3000 Vs SPX3001 Pressure Washer

Many people get confused with these similarly named machines from Sun Joe. It is obviously confusing to have two pressure washers with similar names and only slightly different model numbers.

However, it’s important to note that while they may have some similarities, they also have some key differences that may make one model more suitable for your needs than the other.

By comparing the features and performance of the Sun Joe SPX3000 and Sun Joe SPX3001, you can make an informed decision and choose the pressure washer that is the best fit for your specific cleaning tasks and budget.

What is the Major difference?

The Sun Joe SPX3001 pressure washer does indeed have a hose reel, which is a feature that is not included in the Sun Joe SPX3000 model.

As a pressure washer user you know, a hose reel is a convenient device that allows you to store and organize your high-pressure hose when not in use. It helps to keep the hose off the ground and prevents it from getting tangled or kinked. That in turn reduces wear and tear on the hose and improves the overall lifespan of your pressure washer.

In addition to providing a neat and tidy storage solution, a hose reel on Sun Joe SPX3001  also makes it easier to use the pressure washer. When you have a hose reel on your machine, you can quickly and easily unwind the hose to the desired length, rather than having to manually uncoil it each time you use the pressure washer.

This saves you both time and effort. It also makes the pressure washer more user-friendly, especially if you have a lot of ground to cover or if you need to move the pressure washer around frequently.

In my opinion, the inclusion of a hose reel in the Sun Joe SPX3001 model may make it a more attractive option than the SPX3000 for some users, especially those who value convenience and ease of use. However, it’s worth noting that the hose reel is just one of many factors to consider when comparing these two pressure washers, and it may not be a deal breaker for everyone.

Are There Any Other Key Differences?

Yes, there are some additional differences between the Sun Joe SPX3000 and Sun Joe SPX3001 pressure washers. But I don’t think they are deal makers or deal breakers.

However, when you are going to spend money, every little detail is worth noticing. So let’s move on to a sweet fight between Sun Joe SPX3000 Vs SPX3001 Pressure Washer.

Weight

The Sun Joe SPX3000 pressure washer weighs 24.3 pounds, while the Sun Joe SPX3001 weighs 36 pounds. It clearly means that the 3000 is lighter and more portable, which is a benefit if you need to transport the pressure washer frequently.

On the other hand, the extra weight of the SPX3001 provides more stability and reduces vibration during use. Now, this is also an advantage for some users. So in my opinion, both are good in terms of weight for one reason or another.

Assembly

When I first used the Sun Joe SPX3000, it took me 7-8 minutes to put it together. That means you have to assemble it before starting and using it.

The SPX3001, on the other hand, comes fully assembled, giving you the opportunity to start using it right out of the box.

So this may be a convenience factor for some users who prefer not to spend time putting their pressure washers together. While people like me, who love to assemble things whenever there is an opportunity love to get SPX3000.

Color Options

The SPX3000 is available in four different colors. You can choose the one that best fits your style.

The Sun Joe SPX3001 is only available in green color. This might not be a significant difference for you, but it’s something to consider if someone has specific color preferences.

Soap Tank

The SPX3000 2030 psi pressure washer has two soap tanks, while the Sun Joe SPX3001 has only one limiting you to use a single type of cleaning solution at a time.

This means SPX3000 allows you to store and dispense two different types of cleaning solutions to tackle different cleaning tasks.

The great thing is you can use both soap tanks simultaneously whenever you need. And there is no need of emptying and refill of soap tank again and again.

One more thing worth noticing is the capacity of these soap tanks. The Sun Joe SPX3000 has two tanks with a 0.9L capacity each, making the combined capacity of the machine 1.8L. Meanwhile, its competitor from the same brand, the Sun Joe SPX3001, has just a 1.2L capacity in its single soap tank.

This may not be a major issue for everyone, but it’s something to consider if you have specific cleaning needs or you are fond of using different pressure-washing soaps.

Sun Joe SPX3000 vs SPX3001 Pressure Washer – Performance Test

Here, I am afraid I will disappoint you. Not exactly me but the machines themselves.

Because in terms of performance, the Sun Joe SPX3000 and Sun Joe SPX3001 pressure washers are similar or in fact copies of each other.

Both models are powered by a 14.5-Amp/1800-watt motor to produce up to 2030 PSI of pressure and 1.76 GPM of flow. They both have five quick-connect nozzle tips (0º, 15º, 25º, 40º, and soap) that allow you to adjust the pressure and spray pattern to suit different cleaning tasks.

Due to these similarities, the SPX3000 and SPX3001 deliver similar cleaning results on similar surfaces and with similar cleaning solutions.

However, it’s worth noting that there are other factors that can affect the overall performance of a pressure washer, such as the quality of the water source, the condition of the hose and nozzle, and the technique of the operator. But I have tested them in the same conditions.

Overall, after disclosing this secret, the minimal difference in performance between the Sun Joe SPX3000 and Sun Joe SPX3001 may not be a significant deciding factor for you.
